“This was a wonderful B&B. David, the owner, is a phenomenal host. He was very gracious on check in and explained all about the Humboldt House. Helped with questions re the area as well. The room (Mikado) was lovely. Our breakfast was so special. We have pictures to remind us of the delicious food he made. We were also impressed with his chocolates and cookies. The facility was very close to the harbor, so walking was easy. It was quiet there too, so we enjoyed that. Very different from your average hotel, motel, etc.”

“My husband and I spent two nights at the Humboldt House B&B in the Mikado Room. The asian inspired room was very nicely decorated, clean and had a large jacuzzi tub which we loved. There were so many nice small touches that added to our stay. In our room when we arrived there were delicious chocolate truffles, sparkling wine, a wood fireplace (prepared for a fire).

We were greeted by the innkeeper David and he quickly explained a few things to us. Every afternoon they have tea, coffee and cookies in the sitting room and breakfast is served to your room each morning through a two-way compartment. All that we had to do was sign up for the menu that we wanted and the time that we wanted it served. You could essentially go the whole trip and not be disturbed but he was also very clear that he could help with any types of reservations etc if desired.

Our first morning the breakfast was delivered and it was delicious! Pack in a large basket, no detail was forgotten. I had delicious crepes with fruit and my husband had eggs benedict. There were also fresh croissants and a scone with jam and butter, juice, tea. It was all very well done and we enjoyed eating in our room as opposed to in a communal eating area.

The location of the B&B is very good and it is very easy walking distance to everything in downtown Victoria as well as a very nice park. There is parking included just behind the B&B which was very convenient.

We had a romantic and enjoyable stay and would definitely return to the Humboldt House B&B next time we are in Victoria.”

By far the best B&B we’ve stayed at. We visit Victoria several times a year and regret having not discovered this place sooner. Can’t wait to return.
